At the start of a project, we establish what relevant patents exist. We can then determine how we might mitigate their impact by revising the product, system, technologies, or overall approach.
An existing patent creates a constraint that often leads our experienced and creative team to deliver highly innovative award-winning products
Sometimes patent protection is not appropriate and instead we suggest IP protection technologies or a change to the manufacturing process. We continually monitor intellectual property (IP) during the product and system design phase and look for IP that we might protect.
Towards the end of the design phase, we can assemble any patentable IP and discuss with patent lawyers what best to protect within a given budget. We will often draft a patent for the patent agent to build from.
When you have a patent in the UK, you might be able to reduce your corporation tax to 10%. The following is a quote from the government website:
“…Patent Box is designed to encourage companies to keep and commercialise intellectual property in the UK. It allows companies to apply a lower rate of Corporation Tax to profits earned from its patented inventions.”
